We went up to see the Olympic Park on Monday night, forcing us to make our way back to the hotel after sunset. Since we don't post a lot of night photographs, here's a sampling of what we saw in Beijing after dark.
In front of the Olympic facilities.
Bird's Nest at night.
The escalator at the Olympic Park subway station.
A huge group was congregated around a small television broadcasting some sort of ballroom dancing program.
Synchronized jumpers drew a small crowd, but not as many as the TV screen above.
Some sort of tai chi class outside of the mall.
Lanterns outside the Qianmen shopping area.
We stopped to watch this group doing a dance with fans.
The original south gate of the city wall, built between 1406-1420.
